Established in 1843, we are a family run, British company who are today the guardians of the 500 year old traditional slate and stone industry in Cumbria. For nearly 200 years Burlington Stone has worked the high quality, unique and beautiful natural slate and stone minerals to be found in the mountains and fells of the Lake District and south Cumbria. Today this industry is in safe hands as we ensure that the traditional skills and techniques used to work these stones endure, with modern cutting machinery and green technologies added, to deliver a beautiful, long lasting, sustainable, British natural material.
Burlington Stone extracts and crafts a diverse range of signature British natural slate and stone products which exude the ultimate in quality and permanence. With over 180 years of experience, we produce two traditional Lake District roofing slates and a range of beautiful architectural stones in a subtle range of colours and finishes making Burlington’s product proposition unique as it offers only the highest quality British natural slate and stone. Processed by our own British craftsmen with skills that have been passed down through the generations, we deliver direct to our clients all around the world.
